The Roos take on the reigning premiers in this weekend's season opener where they will unleash star goal shooter Grace Senior.
Senior comes to the Roos from North Albury and is among some of the new faces in the side set to shake things up.
"She's a superstar," Corowa-Rutherglen coach Georgie Bruce said.
"She gets on extremely well with our girls and has the right sort of personality to add a nice balance in the team.
"We have some calibre players so it's very exciting for us going forward.
"Everyone gets a bit anxious waiting for the first round but we're really excited, in the right way.
"We're looking forward to the challenge."
Wangaratta have retained virtually all of their premiership side from last year and look to again be a force in the competition this season.
