Only six days after going down to Gippsland Power by three points, Mark Brown's line-up again came up short in a tight finish.
"We're giving ourselves an opportunity but we have to take that next step and lock away the win," Brown said.
"Lapses in concentration are killing us at the minute.
"We controlled the game at times and then fell away at different stages."
Albury's Ben Kelly was close to best afield for the second successive week in the ruck while Will Quirk played well on the ball and Jay Hillary had his moments in attack.
Jye Chalcraft, Cameron Wild, Josh O'Dwyer and Elijah Hollands also impressed.
The Bushrangers lost co-captain Cameron Wilson before the match due to illness with his replacement Paddy Parnell performing well on a wing.
"He picked up the tempo quickly and had something like 16 touches," Brown said.
"We missed Cam, but Paddy took his chance and had a good game."
The Bushrangers take on Greater Western Victoria Rebels at Queen Elizabeth Oval from 3pm next Sunday.
