A man who poured petrol over his ex-partner's car and threatened to set the vehicle alight at her East Albury home has apologised.

Justin Matthew Lavers told magistrate Rodney Brender in Albury Local Court this week he was "so sorry that it happened".
"I've got no excuses. I just have to take responsibility for what happened."
Lavers, now of Wodonga, previously pleaded guilty to domestic violence-related charges of assault and stalk or intimidate.
For that, the 27-year-old was fined $600 and placed on a 12-month community corrections order.
Lavers' behaviour, the court previously heard, was his way of inflicting revenge on the victim for their failed relationship.

This greatly troubled the magistrate who presided over Lavers' previous appearance, Imad Abdul-Karim, who was told of the police's "significant concerns for the safety of the victim".
Lavers, a truck driver, owned the Nissan X-Trail though it was mainly driven by the victim.
He had tried to explain his actions to police, on his arrest, by saying: "I just roughed her up a bit."
The arson threat, he insisted, was abandoned immediately.
The incident happened outside the victim's Mount Street home on the morning of December 16.
The pair had already gone through a whole day of arguing, which led to her banning him from returning to the house.
When he turned up he came armed with a cigarette lighter. Lavers poured petrol over the car and made his threat.
But it was not the only incident, as Lavers had earlier slammed the driver's door on the victim's legs.
That came after Lavers swore at her while telling her to take her own car instead.
