The budding basketball star already stands at 198cm - at just 14 years of age.
Gorman has experienced his best season yet, making the final cut for Victoria Country for this year's under-16 national championships in Darwin.
After being named emergency last year, Gorman has broken new ground by earning state honours.
"I've played Country Cup, but this is the first actual state side I've made," he said.
"We got picked to play Country Cup and if we played well there, we got asked to the state combine.
"There was about 30 kids for Vic Country and kids from Vic Metro and they picked the last teams from that."
Gorman featured in Yarrawonga's under-14 football premiership last season, but has put basketball first in 2019.
He played for his home club Yarrawonga last season, but crossed to Shepparton to play at a higher level this year.
More sports news:
"There's better tournaments and better divisions, so it will be a better competition for me," he admitted.
"I pride myself on defence mainly."
Gorman is a student at Goulburn Valley Grammar at Shepparton, which was another factor in his change of clubs.
"A few families over there have adopted him a few times a week so he can go to training," his father, John, said.
"His Shepparton coach Josh Waight coaches the Vic Country program as well, so it made sense for him to go there.
"Brett Harvey has been Tom's junior coach at Yarrawonga for the past few years and he's been fantastic with the development of such a small association to bring these kids on."
Gorman flies out on July 4, with the tournament running from July 6-13.
Meanwhile, Yarrawonga-Mulwala Basketball Association recently applied for government funding to upgrade its current one-court facility at the Yarrawonga High School.
