Kean Wise will return to court on Tuesday after his arrest at a Swan Street unit in Wodonga on Thursday.
He had been wanted by police for weeks and tried to flee out of a window when they came knocking, and was aggressive while being arrested.
His mate armed himself with a hammer before the arrest.
A search allegedly found the keys in a suitcase and a bag at the property.
Wise had been wanted for offences dating back to mid-January.
It's alleged he spent about 90 minutes ransacking a Vermont Street property on January 15 with a second man.
Wise was allegedly caught on security cameras knocking off a range of items, most of which was returned by a co-accused.
He has been charged after an alleged police pursuit in a green Holden Commodore on Melrose Drive and Lawrence Street on January 31.
Police attempted to arrest Wise on Melrose Drive on February 21 but capsicum spray had little effect on him.
He fought an officer after being sprayed and jumped a fence into a car yard.
It's alleged he continued to offend through his involvement in a car theft on Silky Oak Avenue on March 12.
The silver Ford was found on Ethel Street later in the day.
Wise made his own bail application in Wodonga Magistrates Court late last week but was denied release.
The court heard he was already on a community corrections order imposed in December during his latest offending, as well as being on bail for marijuana possession.
He is expected to apply for bail on Tuesday.
