Co-coach Jeremy Payne fired in a double against the side he played for during the 2017 Capital League season, while Oscar Smart and Tim Jones also found the back of the net.
The Spitfires women also turned in a strong performance, falling 1-0 to Old Canberrans in a tough tussle.
Women's coach Matt Davis was pleased with the effort.
"Old Canberrans are a top side and we once again defended really well," Davis said.
"We had a few out, so girls were playing extra minutes and it was quite hot."
Eliza Brown and Pip Bowler made strong debuts for the Spitfires, but it was the side's experienced defence which shone through.
"(Goalkeeper) Sam Campbell saved a penalty stroke and was excellent once again," Davis added.
"Sherren Rahaley at the back was our best on ground as well.
"Our defence is in good order, we've got a bit to work on in attack, but we're getting there.
"I actually thought we held the ball a bit more than we did last week when we won, so we probably played better than we did last week."
The Spitfires women have their first road trip against University of Canberra next weekend, while the men also travel to Canberra to face ANU.
