The Swans have enjoyed the perfect start to sit atop of the ladder with a whopping percentage of over 500 per cent.
Highlighting the evenness of the competition, Chiltern alongside Thurgoona are the only two undefeated sides after the opening two rounds.
And while the Swans were expected to account for Wodonga Saints, it was last week's thumping 109 point win over Dederang Mount Beauty that sent tongues wagging in Tallangatta league circles.
"We have been down for a few seasons but with the recruits and a good pre-season under our belt, there is a real buzz around the club," Whitehead said.
"We are not getting too carried away with last week's win over Dederang because they were missing some quality players.
"But I was happy with our pressure and the way we used the ball."

Wodonga Raiders' recruits Ben Mason and Ash Van Klaveren have had an instant impact at their new club and provide the Swans with a lot more dash out of their defensive half.
"Our back six are all former Raiders so know how each other plays and have been providing plenty of drive from that back half," he said.
"Ash came on board this year as assistant coach and I think we are a lot fitter this season.

"Ash obviously spent some time under Daryn Cresswell and he brought a lot of ideas with him that he learnt under Cresswell which we used a lot over the pre-season to improve our fitness."
Whitehead at centre half-forward alongside Michael McWilliams lurking deep in attack have been the major beneficiaries of the Swans' attacking style of play.
The second year coach has booted 17 goals to lead the goalkicking from Yackanandah's Trent Castles.
McWilliams is in third spot with nine goals.
Whitehead finished with 38 goals last year from 17 matches with his biggest bag five goals against Tallangatta.
"The ball is coming in a lot quicker this season, which is what you want as a forward," he said.
"Last year it was a lot slower and we were a bit undermanned but things are working for us at the moment and the challenge now is to build on the momentum."
The Swans have been missing best and fairest winner Danyl Woods in the opening rounds.
He is not expected to play until next month with a knee complaint.
Recruit Bailey Evans has also been sidelined.
