The Department of Land, Water and Planning warned residents the burn, ignited at Baranduda Trig Point Track on Wednesday, would take a number of days to be completed.
They said the burns were being undertaken to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires near Baranduda and surrounding areas.
"Some forest roads and tracks may be closed while the burn is being completed," DELWP said.
"Signs will be in place if roads or tracks are closed.
