Adem Somyurek's commitment follows fellow Upper House MP Liberal Democrat Tim Quilty asking him in parliament to investigate the council.
The Border Mail asked Mr Somyurek via his office about his response to the association's call for him to help bring back public confidence in the council and he did not reply directly.
Instead a spokeswoman confirmed he had been in the North East last week.
"The Minister for Local Government has made it a priority to get out and meet with Victoria's rural councils, just last week he had very informative meetings with the mayors and councillors from Towong shire, Indigo and Alpine," she said.
"The minister met Wodonga Council as part of the recent Regional Cities Victoria meeting and looks forward to visiting Wodonga in the near future to better understand the challenges faced locally."
He asked Mr Somyurek "what level of misconduct by council is required to spark an investigation?".
Mr Somyurek urged Mr Quilty and whoever has a complaint to contact Local Government Victoria.
That stirred the association to write to Mr Somyurek.
