Laura Parkyn of Baranduda read about the morning at Gateway Lakes on a brochure for Active April.
"I've always wanted to try it and I enjoy rowing machines at the gym," she said.
"It was completely different to what I expected, but I liked it."

Fellow new-comer Fiona Parker of Wodonga enjoyed the team element of the sport and said she was "definitely considering" joining up.
Vice president Sandy Nickels said the club, which heads to Canberra on Wednesday to compete in the national championships, had received good feedback.
"People enjoy doing something different, and being on the water," she said.
"Our mission is to promote health and friendships, and help people reach national and international levels if they want to."
The club was founded in 2012 and now has nearly 60 members, many who compete all over the world.
