It was a back and forth tussle between the Bandits and Diamond Valley Eagles, but some big shooting by Mahady and drive from Nat Hurst saw the Bandits home 92-81.
"It could have gone either way," coach Lauren Jackson said.
"They could have lost it or they could have hit shots and stepped up and they stepped up, so I'm really happy they know how to do that.
"Emma Mahady is the backbone of our team, there's no doubt about it.
"When she's hitting shots like that, it just makes a huge difference."
Young gun Casey Ardern showed good signs in the first quarter, while new centre Jessie Edwards was again strong in the win.
The Bandits took to the court without guard Jade McCowan, Molly Rice and Olivia Barber.
