It is believed to be the first time the Saints' seniors and reserves both won on the same day in seven seasons.
The Saints led by 32 points at the last change but had to withstand a spirited comeback from the Bushrangers who booted 4.8 to 1.3.
Coach Gerard Midson labelled the victory as a step in the right direction.
"It was a bit nerve-wracking that final-quarter," Midson said.
"We had no bench and probably had four guys out on the ground that probably shouldn't have been out there.
"We were probably lucky they were a bit off target in the end.
"It was a good feeling to finally be able to belt out that song.
"It was a game we rated ourselves a chance a winning and hopefully this will help get the monkey off our back."
