Demon president Owen Johnstone said the club had only 25 to 30 players on its books and faced the distinct possibility of joining Federal and Border-Walwa without reserves.
"We are pushing it up hill," Johnstone said.
"If we don't get a reserves, the other sides who are left will get six games per year plus finals.
"That's not good for anyone.
"Once reserve grade folds you lose all your volunteers, plus money from the bar and canteen.
"Reserves are crucial."
Johnstone said Corryong would need an influx of numbers over the next week with the competition starting on April 27.
"If I got 40 players I'd be doing back flips and I'm 115kg so you don't want to see that," he said.
"Hopefully we can find a few."
Upper Murray league manager Gavin Rendell said the reserve grade competition's future would have to be reviewed if Corryong couldn't find a side.
"Unfortunately a number of clubs are struggling for numbers and we would just have to sit down and look at things," Rendell said.
"It's a problem."
