Fatal form of child abuse
Easter is the time when we remember the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ on the cross and celebrate his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

For many people it is nothing more than an extended long weekend that adds a massive amount of traffic to our roads and we are reminded to obey the road rules and not become a statistic for the "road toll".
My mind turns to the other types of death within our community; abortion, infanticide, murder, terrorism, assassination, capital punishment and euthanasia.
Some members of the community find some of these repugnant and willingly accept others, mainly for their own convenience; our Western style democracy is founded on Christian principles, The Fifth Commandment, "Thou shalt not kill".
We hear a lot about child abuse, but abortion is the "fatal" form of child abuse.
Most politicians condemn murder, terrorism and assassination with some countries still justifying capital punishment and yet some politicians pass laws to allow abortion up until birth and euthanasia giving it fancy names like "assisted suicide", or "dying with dignity". The victim can no longer argue back.
The deputy leader of the Opposition, Tanya Plibersek has promised to provide taxpayer-funded abortions in all states if Labor wins the forthcoming election, which just shows what some politicians will do for votes with yours and my money.

Abbott a wrecker
Tony Abbott was the main instigator of the removal of Malcolm Turnbull. This was simply an act of vengeance. It caused an unnecessary byelection costing the taxpayer $160 million. This cost and the irreparable damage he has wreaked on the Liberal party was purely to salve his wounded pride.
It should be noted that Tony Abbott became leader of the parliamentary party by one vote - which was presumably his own. In other words, he voted himself in as leader. Half of the remaining members of the party did not want him and a number who voted in his favour did not want Malcolm Turnbull. The number voting specifically for him could probably be counted on the fingers of one hand. This is the man who had the cheek to claim that the people wanted him as prime minister.
In any leadership contest, Malcolm Turnbull always had a greater margin of votes in his favour than Tony ever did.

Sussan is powerless
Obviously politicians are not listening to our pleas for help. While I applaud Sussan Ley for attending the rally and trying to speak, I think we have to accept the reality that she is powerless.
The lack of understanding around water policy in Canberra is mindboggling; she hasn't been able to get across the message that our community is on its knees.
Even the Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack, who should be supporting our cause, seems oblivious to what is happening, even after his party was given such a hiding in this region at the recent state election.
