Revered Australian talent Katie Noonan and her jazz trio Elixir will perform songs from their new album, Gratitude and Grief, a collaboration with North East-based poet and cartoonist Michael Leunig.
They will perform at Feathertop Winery on Saturday and Albury Botanic Gardens on Sunday.
Released this year, Gratitude and Grief first premiered at the Sydney Opera House in November 2016.
The music showcases a rare combination of poetry, angelic vocals and sublime improvisation.
Violet Town-based Leunig has explored political, cultural and emotional issues for more than 35 years.
He was made one of Australia's Living Treasures by the National Trust of Australia in 1999.
Noonan's passion for collaboration and pushing boundaries has remained strong.
"As much as I'm satisfied by what I do, I am always hungry for new challenges," she said.
"I'm constantly collaborating. I love working with different people from different worlds and different generations."
For more than 20 years, Noonan has been one of Australia's most revered musical talents.
A singer, songwriter, producer, pianist and champion of the arts, Noonan's career has seen her win five ARIA Awards with 25 ARIA nominations, go seven times platinum and release more than a dozen studio albums.
She rose to prominence as the angel-voiced vocalist behind george, the legendary Australian band who broke through in 2002 with their No. 1 album Polyserena.
Noonan's extensive musical genre spans classical, opera, jazz, folk and electronic sounds, with her extraordinary vocals always at the fore.
OTHER ENTERTAINMENT:
Elixir has enjoyed much success and great commendation along the way including an ARIA Award (Best Jazz Album 2011), 13 weeks at No. 1 on the ARIA Jazz Chart and myriad TV festival appearances.
The trio explores new musical opportunities and relationships and thrives in unusual collaborative environments.
This weekend Elixir will also perform songs from its previous catalogue and a few favourite songs by other artists.
