Wodonga Council announced on Tuesday morning that it will operate an interim library from its shopfront in High Street next to the post office.
The library will also extend into what was once Conway's sports store at the Water Tower end of High Street.
A temporary council office has been in place on the strip due to renovations at the city's Hovell Street headquarters.
