And community members aren't stopping there, looking to raise their biggest amount when they rattle tins on Friday.
"For a small community, Corowa-Wahgunyah collects well above the average for its population and it just goes to show what people power can do," organiser Karie Playford said.
"It was overwhelming to speak to so many people who came to the sheep drive who have a personal connection to the Royal Children's Hospital.
"I think that is probably why we have such a high tally each year - last year we raised about $38,000."
Ms Playford said the drive gave their rural community a chance to be involved.
"When we hit the streets on Good Friday with the fire trucks we don't get out to the rural properties so this gave them an opportunity to donate," she said.
"This is particularly impressive given the drought and the struggles farmers are facing including feeding their sheep.
"It was overwhelming to see all the agents and farmers who got on board and it just shows how generous our community really is."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Corowa Good Friday Appeal committee coordinator Emily Bush said the drive included more than $2500 in cash donations.
"We even had several local farmers who don't run sheep support the appeal by donating cash," she said.
Ms Bush said the committee hoped to make it an annual event.
"The sheep drive has been a wonderful start to our fundraising efforts this week, which will culminate on Good Friday when our volunteers hit the streets of Corowa and Wahgunyah to collect donations," she said.
