It will be the second time Dr Robinson has stood in the seat, having been Greens candidate in 2007.
Her unveiling comes less than a week before nominations close for candidates in the seat and contrasts with the last federal poll when Greens contender Jenny O'Connor flagged her candidacy a year before the election.
Dr Robinson will join federal Greens leader Richard Di Natale when he visits Albury-Wodonga on Friday as part of a Stop Adani Convoy that is protesting against the Carmichael coal mine in Queensland.
Senator Di Natale said he would be on the Border to back a protest that's "going to draw attention to the fact we need to act with urgency or risk losing the Great Barrier Reef".
Senator Di Natale will join Greens founder Bob Brown at a Wodonga stop-off on Good Friday as part of a anti-Adani tour from Hobart to Canberra via the Galilee Basin.
