The Saints were untroubled against struggling sides North Albury and Wodonga but coach Jake Sharp is expecting Daryn Cresswell's side to present a huge challenge.

"I would imagine it would be (biggest test)," Sharp said.

"You saw how well Wodonga Raiders were coached under Cresswell (Daryn) and I would expect they would be coached pretty similarly.

"He's one of the better coaches getting around.

"I'm sure they will be well drilled.

"We have to keep stepping up to the plate and that's what we hope to do."

Sharp has been pleased with Myrtleford's execution in the opening two rounds with the Saints conceding only 11 goals.

The home team will have added incentive with skipper Mitch Dalbosco playing his 100th match.

Dalbosco started his career at Bright before switching to McNamara Reserve and coming through the ranks.

"He's the heart of the club and has hung around through the hard times," Sharp said

"He lives and breathes it and is a real captain on and off the field.

"He would do anything for the club. We will try and make it a special one for him."

Myrtleford has been dealt a blow this week with Liam Byrne facing a long stint on the sidelines with a medial collateral ligament injury.

He went down in last weekend's win over Wodonga.

"He will miss a fair period of time," Sharp said.

"It's disappointing."

Wangaratta Rovers broke a 19-match losing streak against Corowa-Rutherglen last weekend and Cresswell knows his team must defeat teams like Myrtleford to break into the finals.

The former AFL player will be wary of any mental let-down.

Full-forward Chris Knowles has emerged as a goalkicker after kicking six majors while Dylan Stone, Sam Carpenter and Raven Jolliffe will also be key players.
