The three-time AFL premiership player and Brownlow Medallist became involved in a heated altercation with another person on the course, reportedly after they moved his golf cart.
Akermanis is confident he did nothing wrong.
"Someone moved my stuff, which was illegal," he said.
"I decided to put an end to it.
"It will all be done and dusted at committee."
The incident is being investigated by the club's committee and Murray District Golf Association.
Akermanis, who was recently banned from Thurgoona, said he was "being targeted for some reason".
"Hopefully the committee sees it in my favour," he said.
