"I thought our run and carry and runners really got into the game in the second half, which was probably the difference in the end," Pies' coach Luke Morgan said.

The visitors were determined to post a win for popular midfielder Matt Kelly in his 200^th game.

Michael Newton bagged five goals, pushing his tally to 25 after four games.

Defender Michael Bordignon was superb, along with Morgan, forward Ben Speight and Newton.

Pigeons' recruit Tim McAuley, Beau Seymour and Brandon Symes, who kicked three goals along with rising youngster Matt Casey, were the home team's pick.
