After topping the qualifying tournament with Chinese Taipei's Lawrence at 2-under 70, he started preparation for his debut in the Haikou Championship, the season's third event.
Webb made a great start in the first round carding a one over round of 73, with his only blemish a bogey on the seventeenth hole.
The next day however he struggled in the tricky conditions to card an 81 and miss the cut with a bad start proving costly.
Webb, after parring his first two holes, then had a triple bogey and double bogey on the third and fourth holes.
He showed great character to bounce back with two birdies on the back nine, before a double bogey bogey finish had him finish at ten over.
Webb last month had a wonderful finish in the New Zealand PGA Championship at the Pegasus Golf and Sports Club.
He finished tied for 17th after finishing 11 under for the tournament, ten shots behind the winner.
Webb carded rounds of 71, 69, 69 and 68.
Webb, who grew up in Holbrook with parents Kim and Wayne, learnt his golfing trade on the local 18-hole sand green course at Holbrook.
He was also school captain of Billabong High School and a very talented young cricketer.
His hard work and dedication is certainly paying dividends.
