The 16-year-old will instead turn her attention towards pursuing her passion for football.
As equally impressive out on the football field, the multi-talented young gun has starred for the Murray Bushrangers under-18 girls team this season in the forward line.
With her commitments to both teams looking to overlap throughout the year, Barber has made the call to see where football might lead her in the coming years.
Barber, who has been playing basketball since she was 12, played the first two games of the inaugural NBL1 competition for the Bandits under new coach Lauren Jackson this season.
The Bandits take on the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre on Saturday.
