Kellie Anne McKenny had been demanding money from the victim through messages for months before the attack.
"You know that I have cut people up and I'm not afraid to do it to you if you don't get my money," McKenny wrote.
The 42-year-old later denied sending any messages and said her Facebook account must have been hacked.
The 16-year-old victim had been fearful of what McKenny would do in the lead-up to the assault.
So when she saw her near Glenroy Public School on October 31 last year she did her best to avoid her.
The girl went down a laneway towards Resolution Street, near McKenny's home.
The older woman followed behind her and punched her in her face from behind, causing the 16-year-old to drop to the ground.
Witnesses said the girl was crouching on the ground in tears as McKenny stood over her, screaming.
"Where's my f---ing money, what have you got on you?" she yelled.
The victim handed over $10 and her Samsung phone.
McKenny said she wouldn't give the phone back until she had the cash, and warned "I will hurt you twice as bad next time I see you".
The victim fled and McKenny was arrested on November 11.
She took a swing at a police officer after her arrest, but the detective sergeant blocked the punch from her using an arm bar.
McKenny pleaded guilty to two charges in Albury Local Court on Tuesday.
More serious charges were dropped.
She will be sentenced on June 4 on charges of robbery and resisting police.
An apprehended violence order protecting the victim was extended.
McKenny was on a community service order at the time of the offence.
Police noted the incident had been witnessed by multiple parents who had been taking their children to the primary school.
The said the victim had been "vulnerable".
