His mum Nikki shared the news on the Archer's Alpha Angels Facebook page on Friday night, without disclosing details of the transplant in respect of the donor's family.
"In the deepest of grief they still so selflessly made the decision to give our amazing boy the most deservedly gift of life," she said.
"I always said I loved our donor before we even got the call and that love is now real and massive.
"I do not think a 'Thank you' to this hero family will ever be enough."
More news:
Ms Irwin also shared a short video message from Archer in his hospital bed.
"I have some news; I finally got my new liver," he said.
"Thank you guys for all your help and I'll talk to you soon."
The seven-year-old described his old liver as being of the size of a 'walnut' when it was removed.
Archer was diagnosed as a baby with alpha one antitrypsin deficiency, which affects his liver and lungs, and while he has received ongoing treatment his condition deteriorated over the past year.
He has been on levels of the organ donor list for years and was aligned with a potential match in February, but the potential donor's family opted not to donate.
Ms Irwin said the transplant had been "seven years in the making", and thanked her family and some of the various medical professionals who have been involved in their journey.
"Watch out world, this kid is already smashing it, but he has so much more to achieve and I know he will only make the world better," she said.
"Thank you to everyone we had had our backs, joined our team, supported and cheered us on, you will know what this means to us.
"Please never stop spreading organ and tissue donation message and continue to give blood, can tell you (sic) their are families just like ours relying on blood products."
Archer is currently immune suppressed.
More to come.
