The branch was forced to cancel last year's Million Paws Walk due to a lack of volunteers but after their plight became public they were overcome with people offering help.
And now the volunteers can't wait for this year's walk and major fundraiser on May 19.
Vice president Lauren Black said the Million Paws Walk will take over Hovell Tree Park with "much more than just the walk" on offer.
"There will be food and beverage stalls with plenty of those focusing on dogs, majority of the local vets will be down there offering free health checks and we are having a pet show with prizes on offer," she said.
"The walk is obviously the main event with distances of 1-5km on offer so everyone can get involved with their best friends.
"This is the largest annual fundraiser for the RSPCA and all money raised at our event will go straight back into our branch."
Ms Black said the branch is "quite unique" compared to other RSPCA branches across the state.
"We are focused on education and prevention because we aren't your average shelter," she said.
"When most people think of the RSPCA they think we have dogs and cats up for adoption but that isn't our main purpose.
"We do have an adoption and foster caring program but that is just one area we offer.
"We offer subsidised desexing and microchipping and have an aged care program which offers pet walking for those who are unable to due and we also offer to check on your pets if you are in hospital and have no one is there to look after them."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Black said the volunteers encourage all dog owners to register for the day and enjoy a day with your best friend.
"There isn't many events you can go to and enjoy with your best friend so we encourage every one to get on board," she said.
"And there is so much going on - it will be such a fun day all the while raising money to help our local branch."
The Million Paws Walk is happening on May 19 at Albury's Hovell Tree Park from 9am.
