Sarau said the response to the inter-league campaign had been first-class with stars including Jayden Kotzur, Brett Doswell, Trent Castles, Danny Stewart and Ricky Whitehead putting their hand up.
The league will train next Wednesday.
"I couldn't be happier with it (the squad)," Sarau said.
"At this stage we have the best side we could possibly get.
"We want to get the competition back to where it should be."
Sarau, selectors Brett Skinner and Darren Hatton and runner Clinton Harvey have watched every club in the TDFL play in the opening rounds of the season.
"We've got around and had a good look," he said.
"If everyone stays fit, it will come down to who is playing well at club level.
"We're really happy with how it's shaping up."
The TDFL has had several theory sessions in the lead-up to the clash with Sarau leaving no stone unturned in his quest to regain "redemption".
The competition hasn't won an inter-league match since 2014 when it defeated Kyabram by 13 points.
It has lost its last three matches to Hume (98 points), Ovens and King (29 points) and Riverina (46 points) and sat out last year due to complications with the draw.
The Ovens and King will name their squad early next week with Jeremy Wilson and Joel Fisher coaching.
Milawa's Ben Clarke, Glenrowan's Karl Norman and Tarrawingee's Justin Hoggan are set to play.
The match will be played on May 18.
The TDFL squad is:
