Nationals candidate for Indi Mark Byatt said the money was available from the 2019-20 budget, released last month.
The project was not specifically named in the budget at the time.
"Remediation works to remove lead contamination has finished, the players are back and these new netball courts and lights for the court and football ground will further reinvigorate this important recreational space for the club and local community," Mr Byatt said.
Funding would be provided to Wangaratta Council under the community sport infrastructure grant program.
Liberal candidate for Indi Steve Martin said replacing inadequate lighting would unlock all of the benefits of the upgrade, which was undertaken as part of the oval surface restoration.
"It's great to see North Wangaratta Football Netball Club back home after it being out of action for so long," he said.
