In Ovens and Murray football, Myrtleford snagged a close win against the Wodonga Raiders, while over in the netball at Wangaratta, the Panthers continued their winning form to defeat last year's premiers.
There was also plenty of action in the Hume, Tallangatta and Upper Murray leagues, with Brock-Burrum ending Obsorne's undefeated streak this season on the footy field.
And on Sunday, the Albury-Wodonga Steamers opened their winning account, securing their first for the season.
