It is a sad state of affairs when a person resorts to throwing an egg at the Prime Minister to make a point.

Whatever that "point" is.
Within an hour of Amber Holt allegedly hurling an egg at Scott Morrison on Tuesday, #EggGirl and #Albury were trending on Twitter for all the wrong reasons.
So what did "Egg Girl" actually achieve with her little stunt?
She was arrested and allegedly found in possession of drugs, disrespected both the Prime Minister and the Country Women's Association, ensured her mugshot was one of the lead items on every major news website across the country and potentially put her job in jeopardy.
All for 15 minutes of fame on social media where, predictably, there were was a level of support for the foolish behaviour.
When asked if a peaceful protest would have been better, Ms Holt replied: "Cos that gets through".
Forgive us, but we're still not sure what point she was trying to make other than that she's not a huge fan of Mr Morrison as Prime Minister.
Tuesday's incident came little more than a month after a teenager smashed an egg onto the head of Fraser Anning and less than a fortnight after a journalist and photographer were attacked at a press conference for the Queensland senator.

The most recent outburst was condemned by Mr Morrison, who said at the time: "People should be able to go to work, whether you're a photographer or anyone else, and not be subjected to that sort of violence".
That extends to if you're the Prime Minister, as well. We said in these pages at the time, that it was "a poor way to express your frustration" and we stand by that.
While, thankfully, no real harm was done on Tuesday, the idea that people think they can turn up to an event where politicians, or anyone for that matter, are and throw things at them is appalling. That egg could have been anything.
For that reason alone, we hope that an example is made of "Egg Girl" because if there is a "point" to be made out of this saga, it should be that idiotic behaviour like that won't be tolerated.
