Tjanarra Denniss was far more sedate in the Wodonga Magistrates Court this week than last week.
She put a leg over the dock in an apparent escape attempt during her first appearance, was pulled back by custody officers and shrieked and swore as she was taken into the police cells.
Denniss had been speeding on Thomas Mitchell Drive, and nearly wiped out another vehicle during the incident on April 27.
She tried to turn the stolen Toyota Camry onto the Bandiana Link about 2pm, but crashed into the pole and knocked it onto the road.
The 18-year-old ran from the scene and was apprehended by members of the public, and found with mobile phones, keys, pliers, a knife and side cutters.
A check of the vehicle's GPS showed it had been travelling 54km/h above the limit at the point of impact and a bail justice was concerned she was on drugs.
It's alleged Denniss stole the vehicle, keys and phones during a break-in at the mental health clinic on Townsend Street in Albury.
She is likely to face charges in NSW.
Lawyer Mario Vaccaro said his client had been "a bit all over the place" when she spoke to corrections staff, and was initially knocked back for an order.
"She's a young offender," he said.
"First time in custody."
The court heard her mother had terminal brain cancer but Denniss had been unable to speak to her due to family issues.
The teenager was released from jail on Monday after 10 days, and was placed on a corrections order.
She has also been disqualified from driving for a year.
