Pia Frei, who has a background in corporate training, event management and product promotion, has been chosen from more than 70 applicants to oversee the weekly festival of fresh food.
Mrs Frei attended last weekend's market, which she described as beautiful.
"I'm very happy to engage more in the community," she said.
"Promote the market, get more visitors to and maybe grow the market."

Stall holder Anthony Ainsworth, of Butt's Gourmet Smokehouse, said having a co-ordinator allowed the producers to focus on their own contributions.
"We're all busy during the morning, with our own stalls, running our own little businesses and serving the community," he said.
"So having someone who is free to run around and get everything sorted and also let people know about it, promote the market, is really important."
Mr Ainsworth said the committee and stall holders wanted to increase the market's popularity and also the range of stall holders.
"Really make it a destination for people to do their weekly shopping, not just come down for a coffee, come and shop, support your local producers," he said.
"Come straight to the market for all the fresh, fabulous food to our local community."
Known for its two alternating locations, the market will be held solely at Gateway Village, Lincoln Causeway, from June 1 while Albury's Hovell Tree Park is being upgraded.
