In a match marred by injuries to key players, the Bulldogs trailed until the dying seconds when co-coach Clint Ried kicked a goal to level the scores.

The reigning premier was 46 points behind at quarter-time and had already lost spearhead Ash Murray with a leg injury.

Swan full-forward Darren Bradshaw kicked seven majors for the term.

"We couldn't have asked for a better start but Bullioh is a good side and they worked their way back into the game," coach Steve Fouracre said.

"They still needed three goals in the last four or five minutes and we just lacked a bit of composure.

"We had some experienced heads out which didn't help.

"It felt like a loss after the game but in the same match last year we got put to the sword by 120 points."

Federal's cause wasn't helped by Fouracre (hamstring) and Bradshaw (foot) suffering injuries during the second half.

Bradshaw was forced from the ground during the third quarter.

"We go through Darren a lot so we missed him," Fouracre said.

"Bullioh's good players found the footy when they needed them most and full credit to them for that.

"We'll take the draw though, it's better than a loss. Hopefully we took some self-belief out of the game."

Federal captain Cam Sheather was outstanding in defence while George Galbraith lent good support nearby.

Half-forward Tom McKimmie presented well and Andy Silaba provided plenty of grunt in the midfield.

Bullioh forward Kelvin Wallace worked tirelessly for the Bulldogs and was instrumental in the comeback.

Aaron Gordon, Michael Sims, Beau Roberts and John McCabe also played well after the side overcame the effects of winning by 201 points last weekend.

Cudgewa trounced Corryong by 192 points at Corryong.

The Demons were held goalless with Adam Healy, Josh Vinge, Luke Bloom, Brendan McEvoy and Ethan Riddington dominating.

McEvoy took his season tally to 20 with a seven-goal haul.

Corryong were best served by Peter Jeffries and club president Owen Johnstone.

Tumbarumba soaked up some early pressure to defeat Border-Walwa by 139 points.

James Crozier racked up possessions at will while Dillon Selby booted seven majors.

Jole and Myall Hoffmann battled gamely.
