The white truck was stolen from Leonard Street on Friday night or Saturday morning before being used to repeatedly ram the building and the ATM machine.
The pair spent about 10 minutes targeting the TAFE cafeteria area before fleeing with cash, but were forced to leave the truck nearby after it broke down.
"The scene described to me (is) as if almost an explosion has occurred," Detective Sergeant Graeme Simpfendorfer said yesterday.
"There were multiple rooms damaged by this truck.
"It repeatedly reversed into the ATM, causing significant damage.
"We'd like to catch up with these people as quick as we can."
The security footage shows the vehicle slamming into the building, and one of the men getting out to put a strap around the ATM.
They tried to pull out the machine but were unsuccessful.
Detective Sergeant Simpfendorfer said there were multiple victims to the incident, including the company which owned the truck.
He is hopeful someone recognises the pair involved.
