A young North Albury woman almost five times the legal limit who crashed her car into two other vehicles has been warned jail is likely if she drink-drives again.
Erin Louise Martin got behind the wheel after drinking about six "alcopop" 275-millilitre Vodka Cruisers, which have an alcohol content of 5 per cent.
The 23-year-old downed the drinks on April 21 between 6pm and 10.35pm.
Seven minutes later, Albury police received reports of an accident.
Martin, Albury Local Court has heard, crashed her car into a parked ute in David Street, South Albury, that in turn banged into the car parked in front.
After a positive roadside breath test, Martin was arrested and taken to Albury police station. She then provided a breathalyser reading of 0.220.
MORE LOCAL NEWS:
Martin pleaded guilty this week to a single charge of driving with a high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
Her solicitor, James Sloane, said he "was not here to offer any excuses at all" for what Martin had done, as she simply "shouldn't have been driving at all, she knows that".
Martin will now have to wait until July 10 to know her fate.
That came after magistrate Rodney Brender decided to order a sentencing assessment report for Martin, who had her licence immediately suspended on the night of the crash.
Mr Brender said the seriousness of Martin's offending lay in the fact there was a combination of both a high blood-alcohol reading and a car crash.
He said he was leaning towards a community service element in her sentence.
The court was told how the first police on scene saw Martin's red Mitsibuishi ASX SUV up against the white twin-cab Nissan utility.
Her car had front-end damage and two air-bags had been deployed.
Police spoke to Martin and she made full admissions to causing the crash.
"The driver stated she had been drinking at a friend's house earlier."
The impact forced the ute, which was parked next to the kerb, into a parked blue Holden station wagon.
