An Australasian BBQ Alliance-sanctioned event, the competition will host 10 barbecue teams from around the country, vying for a share in $10,000.
Angus Australia will present the inaugural Verified Black Angus Beef BBQ Competition on Wednesday at Hovell Tree Park.
MC and international barbecue star Jess Pryles will host masterclass demonstrations.
The competition will precede the 2019 Angus National Conference, celebrating 100 years of Angus Australia, on Thursday and Friday at Albury Entertainment Centre.
Angus Australia marketing and communications manager Diana Wood said the event was an excellent way to start the conference.
"Angus Australia is celebrating a momentous milestone, one which will feature throughout the National Conference as we look back at Angus through the ages," she said.
"It is exciting that while we have many long running events happening during the celebrations of the 100-year history of Angus Australia, the addition of this new and exciting event will only add to our centenary calendar and open our conference."
Angus Australia Commercial Supply Chain manager Liz Pearson said the event was an exciting addition to Angus Australia.
"We are looking forward to hosting an event that can be enjoyed by the whole family," she said.
The competition starts at 6pm.
Ticket sales will close on Monday.
