Australian Electoral Commission data shows that as of Thursday 16,710 votes had been received at the Wodonga early polling centre and 14,532 at Wangaratta.

Both figures eclipse the entire prepoll centre tallies at the last election - 11,377 (Wodonga) and 11,770 (Wangaratta).

Other Indi sites have averaged hundreds each day with 5907 at Benalla, 3160 at Mansfield and 2578 at Bright.

North of the Murray River, Farrer does not have the same overall high percentage with a bit over 20 per cent of enrolled voters having submitted their ballots.

However, Albury's prepoll centre has had a marked jump with 13,113 having voted up to Thursday, compared to 9858 overall at the 2016 election.

On Thursday, 1671 people voted, a figure that far surpassed the 1150 who had their names crossed off on the second last day of early voting in 2016.

Corowa, which did not have a prepolling place in 2016, has attracted 2032 voters, while 2896 have voted at Deniliquin and 4648 at Griffith.

The early voting at the Victorian election prompted a big drop in numbers at Wodonga booths on polling day, a situation likely to be repeated on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the TAB betting firm on Friday had Liberal candidates in Farrer and Indi continuing to firm as the likely winners in each seat.

Farrer Liberal incumbent Sussan Ley was a $1.60 favourite in from $1.75, while Independent rival Albury mayor Kevin Mack was at $2.20 out from $2.

Indi Liberal candidate Steve Martin is a $1.47 preferred pick, tightening from a $1.55.

Orange Independent Helen Haines is $2.50, having been $2.35, while Nationals hope Mark Byatt is $19 and Labor's Eric Kerr is $34.

However, Sportsbet had Mr Mack a $1.80 favourite in Farrer, ahead of Ms Ley ($1.85) and Labor candidate Kieran Drabsch.

The same agency's Indi market has Green Helen Robinson ($12) at better odds than Mr Kerr ($16), with both behind Coalition ($1.60) and Dr Haines ($2.20).
