The Albury-Wodonga Spitfires men notched their third win of the season with a hard-fought 5-3 result against ANU at Canberra's Carter Field on Saturday.

Co-coaches Jeremy Payne and Tony Donnolley showed their class with three goals between them, while Tim Smith continued his red-hot form with a double of his own.
Payne was happy to come away with the three points, particularly given they trailed 3-0 at quarter time.
"We really started poorly, but the fight the boys showed and the will to get back in the game and win it was pretty impressive," Payne said.
"I don't know if it's a confidence thing for the boys (starting slow), but it's been an ongoing thing.

"Hopefully we're enough games in now that we can shake those slow starts."
The men's ladder after round seven is: Central 19, Goulburn 15, Wests 15, Old Canberrans 14, Albury-Wodonga 10, United 6, St Patrick's 4, ANU 1.
It wasn't be for the Spitfires women, falling 3-1 to fourth-placed Central at Canberra's Watt Field on Saturday.
Hayley Hutchinson got on the board for the Border outfit.
The women's ladder seven is: ANU 16, Tuggeranong 15, Old Canberrans 12, Central 12, St Patrick's 10, United 10, Goulburn 7, University of Canberra 7, Albury-Wodonga 4, North Canberra 0.
Meanwhile, in the weekend's only Hockey Albury-Wodonga division one game, CR United's men defeated Norths 3-1 to stay unbeaten.
