Boomers' export Zac Mackenzie won the association's top award in 2011 at 16 years of age and has gone on to forge a strong career in Sydney.
With two new A-League franchises on the way, Western United (2019-2020) and Macarthur FC (2020-2021), the 24-year-old will wait and see what happens.

"The aspiration is always there, but I'm getting on a bit now," he said.
"I'm in my mid-20s now, but you see it happen every now and then.
"Wollongong (Wolves) was close to making the jump into the A-League and I played there for a few years."
Mackenzie was signed by Sydney Olympic midway through last season and went on to win the league and cup double.
He had four seasons at Wollongong and won the best and fairest in his first two years at the club.
