During his arrest in Lavington, police told Albury Local Court this week, Matthew Main repeatedly said he "regularly kills the family members of police officers".

He made his sexual assault threats from the caged section of a police vehicle, in which he had just vomited, on arriving at Albury police station.

"I'll rape your mother, I'll rape your daughters, your nieces, aunts, cousins, wives, girlfriends," he yelled.

"I don't give a f .... They can have hep' C as well, I'm spreading it all over town."

An ambulance was called, but Main was "combative and aggressive" towards the paramedics.

"While sitting in the (police station) dock, the accused repeatedly spat on the perspex and walls of the dock."

The release of Main, who has been in custody for six weeks, came after he was convicted and handed an 18-month community correction order.

The order required him to have a permanent address, which would be met by him living with his brother's family in Lavington.

Main, 34, pleaded guilty to intentionally or recklessly destroy or damage property and stalk or intimidate.

The incidents involving Main, who as an adult has been charged with 110 offences in NSW and Victoria "for a large variety of violence offences", took place on April 7.

That was when witnesses contacted police after seeing Main kick the window of the St Vincent de Paul Society secondhand shop on Urana Road, leaving a large crack.

Magistrate Rodney Brender was told that Main, afflicted with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, drank a bottle of Tequila before kicking the window, which he later could not recall.

Main wanted to be released so he and his brother could travel to Sydney to care for their terminally ill mother, his father having died from a heroin overdose when the defendant was seven.
