Murray will play reserves against Albury on Saturday.
Dale has recently returned home from Sydney after taking last season off.
Coach Jake Sharp said the Saints had nothing to lose by rolling the dice with the star duo.
"Brad will pull the boots on again and play reserves on Saturday," Sharp said.
"Obviously Brad is an assistant coach this year and has been doing a fair bit of the training despite not playing.
"We aren't putting any pressure on Brad and haven't got any expectations for when he could play seniors.
"He just wants to have a kick and see how his body holds up.
"So he will have a run in reserves and we will just see how everything goes."
Sharp was a lot more excited about the prospect of Dale making a late season comeback.
Dale last played for the Saints in 2017.
The 25-year-old had last season off after relocating to Sydney to work for the Peter and Paul Snowden stable.
"Frazer could be a huge X-factor for us late in the season if he can get himself match fit," he said.
"Frazer has obviously played AFL and is a high quality player.
"Obviously he has missed a bit of football lately so we want to manage him back into the swing of O&M football.
"We have little doubt he can easily reach the heights of when he last played.
"But we will be taking a cautious approach and won't be rushing his comeback."
Dale said he didn't expect to play any football for at least a month.
"I've just started running and I'm hoping to get back by the end of the season," Dale said.
"But there is no guarantees in football."
The Saints are savouring their best ever start after reeling off six consecutive wins.
They face their toughest test to date when the host Albury on Saturday.
