Hard-working helpers in Wodonga will be honoured on Saturday, May 25, during the city's annual Volunteer Fair.

Wodonga's volunteer of the year, renamed the Bryan Watson Award, will be announced as well as the team of the year and people's choice.
The fair will take place from 11am to 1pm in The Cube Wodonga courtyard, where many service and community organisations will run information stalls.

There will be refreshments, free five-minute massages, face painting and live music by Toucan Rock.
Wodonga councillor John Watson said about 20 per cent of the city's population volunteer.
"Some volunteer to contribute or give back to the community, others as part of their studies, to get some experience that may lead to employment, to socialise or network, or as part of their workplace," he said.
