On Tuesday, the ABC announced Ms Ley would be appearing on their June 3 panel alongside Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon, musician Jimmy Barnes, author Sisonke Msimang and energy policy specialist Matthew Warren.
A spokesman for Ms Ley said the appearance was cancelled on Wednesday afternoon for family reasons.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The appearance was due to take place five days after Ms Ley was sworn in as Environment Minister and would have seen her face questions from the audience and fellow panellists.
On Thursday afternoon, Q&A announced online that Ms Ley was no longer a part of the show's line up with South Australian Liberal MP Nicolle Flint taking her place.
