With Lachie Ash and Elijah Hollands (Victoria Country), Ben Kelly and Zane Barzen (Young Guns) and Cameron Wilson and Dylan Clarke (injured) missing, the young Bushies were unable to stem the flow after quarter-time.
"We were probably realistic going into it with our personnel and the depth they have, but I thought the boys fought it out pretty well," coach Mark Brown said.
"It was good for the younger boys.
"Charlie Crisp got his first look at it and was good key forward and back, Cam McLeod took some good marks forward of the footy which was great to see and Dom Bedendo did really well in his second game.
"You look at the scoreboard and it doesn't look great, but we had some real positives come out of it.
"The kids came in and showed some good signs."
Jay Hillary played well in attack and through the midfield, Will Christie was solid in the ruck and Will Chandler had his moments in the midfield.
Brown said the Bushrangers needed to work on their team defence after conceding 18 goals for the second successive week.
"It's all over the ground," he said.
The Murray Bushrangers take on Tasmania at UTAS Stadium on Sunday.
