Falcons wrestled back the lead in Hockey Albury-Wodonga's division one women's competition with a 4-1 victory against Wombats-Beechworth at Albury Hockey Centre on Sunday.

The defending premiers beat Wombats-Beechworth through the midfield and their pace up forward proved the difference.
Wodonga got back to some of its best form with a 5-1 triumph against Norths.
Imogen Albon netted a double, while Danielle McLeish, Stephanie Summer and Faith Wolter all added to the result.
Jade Mann was the only scorer for Norths.
Magpies were also big winners, taking down CR United 4-1.
An undermanned United simply couldn't keep up with the intensity shown by Magpies.
It was the young brigade that starred in the victory as Sharakena O'Halloran scored a brace, while Ellie Jarrett and Mackenzy Muller were also on target.
Chloe Jones put one on the board for United.

In division one men, CR United's faultless start continued with a 5-2 result against Magpies.
Tim Smith added two more to his tally, while Shaun Moore, Ryan Heagney and David Foster contributed.
Goals went to Joe Forster and Luke Norie for Magpies.
Ian Beath was on target in the circle and hurt Wodonga on the scoreboard as Norths romped to a 7-2 win.
Wodonga were in the contest early, but Norths were better for longer and made the most of their opportunities up front.
Lastly, a goal to Jason Russell was enough to see Falcons sneak past Wombats 1-0.
In a hard-fought affair, it was Falcons that executed better in attack.
