Lavington prime mover Tom Hargreave will return for the round 10 away blockbuster to Albury.
Hargreave had tightness in his quad leading into the Myrtleford game and sat out the match as a precaution.
The 24-year-old missed last year's representative match with a quad, so it's only natural the Panthers will adopt a safety-first approach.
ANGRY END
The Wangaratta derby was a ripper, but there was no controversy until after the siren.
Wangaratta's Daniel Boyle was filthy with a Wangaratta Rovers' player as the groups were close by after the game.
Team-mates had to hold him back from taking it further.
"It's just some emotion spilling after the game," coach Luke Morgan said.
"Daniel, to his credit, has apologised to the Rovers, it won't happen again."
The August 18 re-match will be one to watch.
CLASSY RECRUIT
Rovers have picked up one of the top 'lower profile' recruits.
Small forward Matt Medcraft arrived with no fanfare, but he's been terrific.
In the second term, team-mate Cody Schutt won a free kick, but Medcraft had the presence of mind to play on and kick a clever goal.
And in the third, he blasted away from around 50m and it bounced through to cut the margin to two goals.
Medcraft played in Diggers Rest Riddell District flag last year.
FIREPOWER
Debutant Ethan Redcliffe's starring performance in Wodonga's drought-breaking win has guaranteed he will face Wangaratta Rovers on Saturday.
"Unequivocally he stays in the team on that performance," coach Zac Fulford said.
"He was able to help us score and that's something we've lacked, he brings something which we need."
X FACTOR
Yarrawonga's Xavier Leslie kicked two overhead goals against North Albury.
If you land one a year, you're doing well.
"It was a fantastic effort, I think he's got two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old up there (in the forward line) and he's terrific for them," coach Damian Sexton said.
The 33-year-old broke the club's 265-game record in round six last year.
FANTASTIC FILO
A sign of a great player is performing against the gun teams.
In the last four games against Albury, Wodonga Raiders' Brodie Filo has been the best three times.
"Brodie kicked one goal over his shoulder with so much momentum going away from goal and another was from about 55-60m," coach Jarrod Hodgkin said.
A second Morris Medal?
DESPERATION
It's not a crime to not launch yourself into every contest (unless you're Adelaide co-captain Taylor Walker seemingly).
But one young player learnt a valuable lesson on Saturday.
With the ball spearing in to the forward, he had a chance to intercept but stopped.
The forward marked and kicked the goal. It will be highlighted this week.
