REDEVELOPMENT plans for the former Coles supermarket in High Street, which has been vacant for almost two years, have been revealed for the first time.

In addition to Chemist Warehouse, development company, AM Solutions, is proposing a medical centre and two other retail tenancies with frontage to both High and Hovell streets in central Wodonga.
The 2300-square-metre building was sold for more than $4 million last year with a planning application for the site's redevelopment submitted to Wodonga Council.
Chemist Warehouse will take up 844 square metres with the medical centre proposing to have seven doctors and fronting Hovell Street taking up 498 square metres.
Coles shut the supermarket at the site when it opened a larger store in the Mann Central shopping centre.
The planning application includes a traffic management study which states the case for the existing carparking arrangements being adequate for the change of use sought.
"The proposal is not adding any floor area, in fact due to the proposed common areas provided between the uses there is a small reduction in floor area," the application states.
"The change of use generates a lesser parking requirement than the previous use of the site.
"The previous use of the site had a parking deficiency of 65 spaces.
"There is a high probability of visitors to the site combining a trip to the medical centre with a trip to Chemist Warehouse, along with the other retail premises on site.
"During the surveys it was observed that a total of 96 parking spaces were unavailable due to construction, improvement works.
"With these spaces reinstated, it is anticipated that the availability of parking will increase.
"Payment in lieu of car parking spaces not provided on site is not considered warranted."
