Cameron, who has kicked 41 goals for the Blues this season, injured himself in their April 27 clash against Wodonga Saints.
"I knew I'd hurt it but by the time I got the scans I'd played three more games of footy," Cameron said.
"Then I found out it was a full rupture of the ACL.
"It was a pretty big shock to be honest.
"It's disappointing as this will probably be it for my footy career."
Cameron will play against Dederang-Mt Beauty at Eskdale on Saturday before consulting a surgeon late next week.
The spearhead injured the same knee almost five years ago to the day.
Cameron joined Mitta United from rival club Rutherglen and kicked 58 and 52 in his first two seasons with the Blues.
While the injury is a blow to Mitta United's finals aspirations, Cricket Albury-Wodonga provincial club Belvoir will also be without Cameron for its 2019-20 campaign.
He made 547 runs and finished ninth in the batting aggregate last season.
