The former TAFE boss and army officer will be a guest at a Wodonga Ratepayers' Association meeting next Tuesday from 7pm at the city's Senior Citizens Centre.
"He's going to give his vision for Wodonga and then he will take questions," association president Ian Deegan said.
"He wants to put himself out there and see what's going on."
Mr Dixon accepted an invitation from the association after meeting with its members last week at the council offices.
Mr Deegan said they had quizzed Mr Dixon about a settlement over the retiling of the pool at WAVES.
"We asked questions we've been asking for months and he said we didn't lose on the pool and then he showed us his whiteboard where he had the senior staff listed and he was going through what he expected of them," Mr Deegan said.
"He showed us that, so he's not hiding anything and that's a refreshing point."
In response to an open letter from the association, Mr Dixon answered a question about retiling compensation by stating the settlement was confidential.
"The amount of the settlement cannot be made public," Mr Dixon wrote.
"It covered the costs of the retiling works to the pool."
Mr Dixon was also asked council trucks bearing "recycled water used" signs seen using fire hydrants to fill up.
"We do use a mixture of both potable and untreated water and I believe that we no longer have specific signage on our council trucks," he replied.
"It's less costly watering these (trees), even with potable water, than replacing them as they die off."
