Myrtleford's Jake Sharp opened up about balancing his role as playing coach after the win over Wangaratta.

"You bet, it's a massive juggle," he said.

"I didn't really feel like I was in the game at all last week (because of the quad injury).

"I made a conscious effort to have a good week on the track and really set myself for this."

Sexton's ploy of making his players experience at least two parts of the ground could have played a role in Matt Casey's breakout game in the forward line.

"When 'Symesy' (Brandon Symes) went down, we needed a forward and he's a good catch," he said.
